THUMBS UP MEANS…

Does thumbs up means fuck you or I love you or good boy?

I have a little thumbs up statue on my night stand. I love when I notice it because it reminds me of Dooder. If you're new here, Dooder was my special someone for 13 years and when he died, the chapter of my life where I will miss him forever, began.

He was deaf and knew some signs, one of which was THUMBS UP. With Dooder, thumbs up meant good boy, but I also think it meant: Hi, hey, YES, I love you, you're the best dog I'll ever know.

When he saw my thumb up, his little nub would go and that's how I knew he knew what I meant.

And it's funny to me, because in text communications, I think thumbs up = fuck you.

I also know it doesn't, but I do always feel it when I get it, even when I know the person sending it, doesn't mean it that way.

Sometimes I think the person sending it DOES mean it that way. Thumbs up as an emoji is just a tough decipherable. I typically don't use it. Unless I'm also saying F you.

Where most people use thumbs up to confirm, I use exclamation points. What does it mean when Kym exclamation points your message? (the option for 2 red exclamation points as the “reaction” for a text message, that’s what I use.) It means - I read it, I got it, thumbs up, 10-4.
