Another Jade in February
Original gouache painting on archival watercolor paper.
6 x 6 inches with small white border.
This was part of the daily painting, Plant Portrait Series of February 2025.
Day 134, painted 2/14/25.
Back story:
The 2nd piece I did in this Series on day 2, was a jade: Jade in February.
Jade is among my favorite plants contemporarily. See the fuller story about that in: Plant Portrait Series of February 2025.
Some of the pieces in the Plant Portrait series are very “color heavy” and thus different than this piece with its white background left, simple lines, paint blocks, and strokes to represent a lot. More watercolor than opaque, the breadth that gouache offers! Again, I think this piece could be critiqued by an undergrad professor I had in college as “not finished” but I disagree.
Check out Plant Portrait Series of February 2025 if you want more story on this piece. If there is more, it will be in that Write.
Important note:
THIS PIECE DOES NOT COME FRAMED.
These pieces are SHOWN placed in a Basic Box Wood Frame which I love the aesthetic of for the simplicity and minimalist aesthetic. It COULD be a good choice for your frame and you will have the option to add it at checkout. But please note the piece DOES NOT COME FRAMED or in this frame. The picture is so you can see it in a setting but you will get to PYO frame for it! You can ADD THIS frame as an add on during check out.
