Plant Land

$154.00

Original gouache painting on archival watercolor paper.

6 x 6 inches with small white border.

This was part of the daily painting, Plant Portrait Series of February 2025.

Day 28, 2/28/25

Back story: Another favorite piece of this series: Plant Land.

It’s like I took The Plant Shelf has a Space and gave it a make over. Less referential, more imagined, but informed imagined, not just made up imagined. But how do you really define that difference, if there is one to be differentiated?

I LIKE the heavy color in this one particularly. Some of the plants are representative of real plants I have, like the cactus that looks like a floppy penis, that’s a real plant among my collection. Another rescue. The big leafs of philodendron trees, also real plants in my home jungle.

Another instance of “inside landscapes” :

The Plant Shelf has a Space

Everything and the Kitchen Sink

the morning view at night

someone else’s room

the night plant circus

It’s interesting to me to see how this “evolved” as a theme.

Check out Plant Portrait Series of February 2025 if you want more story on this piece. If there is more, it will be in that Write.

Important note:

THIS PIECE DOES NOT COME FRAMED.

These pieces are SHOWN placed in a Basic Box Wood Frame which I love the aesthetic of for the simplicity and minimalist aesthetic.
